WHO ARE WE
In the early 2000’s, Ashlee took on the role of introducing new genetics into the family’s commercial herd. It soon became apparent that sourcing large lines of consistent type Shorthorn bulls, suited for infusing with Bos Indicus cow herds in the harsh northern pastoral areas.
Our breeding philosophy is to breed a consistent type of animal suitable to Australian
conditions. Focusing on functional, structurally correct cattle that are designed to not only
survive, but to THRIVE in the tough northern pastoral country. With an emphasis on FFPL;
Functionality

Nowadays, Cowarie Pastoral Company and White Livestock work together to bring The Bank Shorthorn stud, Beefwood Santa Gertrudis stud, a commercial Santa Gertrudis Shorthorn cross enterprise and WLS Fitting service. No matter where you are in the beef industry, we believe in infusing genetics to BEEF UP YOUR INVE$TMENT$
THE BANK SHORTHORNS
The aim of The Bank is to breed structurally sound efficient cattle that are designed for the tough pastoral country of Australia. There is now an opportunity for both commercial and stud breeders to purchase consistent lines of affordable efficient stud quality cattle.
The Bank was established in 2006 with purchases from the renowned Belmore Shorthorn stud, South Australia and the process of breeding my own structurally correct pastoral-designed cattle began. In 2007, I inherited the family's diamond dot distinctive brand and the search for a stud name began.
Ultimately, we settled on The Bank, the name of a large dam in the middle of a floodout plain on Cowarie. I felt this name complimented my brand diamond dot'. After all where better to put your diamonds than in a bank?
BEEFWOOD SANTA GERTRUDIS
We have a strong commercial focus, aiming to produce easy doing structurally correct cattle, with an emphasis on productivity, fertility, and longevity.
Over the years sires from Fishington Glenn Oaks, Rosar, Dundee and more recently Munnabah and Diamond H studs, have been added to achieve these goals. Further females have been added from Kilcock, Bullamakinka, Pinnaroo and Glenn Oaks studs.
WHY THE INFUSION?
BEEF UP YOUR INVE$TMENT$
Australia’s harsh and often extreme environmental conditions have made beef producers place greater emphasis on the functionality and productivity of their herds, especially across the extensive northern regions.
In Australia, a cow’s ability to adapt, THRIVE and survive across extreme environmental conditions isn’t a trend, it’s a must!
Bottom line = if your cows aren’t functional, they will never be productive.
